A long-standing member of staff at Welland Park Academy in Market Harborough has been named French Teacher of the Year.
Cheryl Gerald has been handed the top accolade for her passion and drive in teaching the subject at the school for over 30 years.
She beat off competition from nominees up and down the country to receive the award from the French Institute in London, which champions the French language and culture.

Cheryl, who has been teaching French at Welland Park since 1991 and also organises trips for students across the channel, is now teaching the children of former students and instilling the same love for French as she did for their parents.
Last year she was the sole teacher of GCSE French with her students achieving the highest level of progress in the whole school and goes above and beyond in offering extra lessons, extra support and encouragement to all her pupils.
Cheryl, who is also an Assistant Principal at Welland Park, told HFM how it felt to be crowned French Teacher Of The Year and why she loves the subject so much:
