More electric vehicle charging points are set to be installed across Harborough after the county council was awarded over £3.1m of government funding.
It will pay for up to 2,500 more in Leicestershire over the next seven years.

There are just over a 1,000 electric and hybrid vehicles on the Harborough’s roads but currently only 52 charging points in the district, according to latest government data.
It is yet to be announced whereabouts the new ones will be installed.
Councillor Ozzy O’Shea, cabinet member for Highways and Transport, said: “This is a fantastic boost for Leicestershire we welcome this investment from central government.
“It means we can begin the delivery of chargepoints across the county, but we also look forward to further discussions with the government about future funding for this important infrastructure.”
