Go-Ahead Recommended To Axe New Shops Plan In Fleckney
Written by HFM News on 7th September 2023
Controversial plans to build new homes instead of shops in the centre of Fleckney are being recommended for the go-ahead.
Developers were given permission for the retail units three years ago – as part of plans to create a ‘community plaza’ off the High Street – but now want to put up eight houses instead.

A petition signed by over 50 residents and 42 objection letters have been sent to Harborough District Council, ahead of next week’s planning committee meeting.
Villagers say additional shops are badly needed because of the increasing number of new homes built in Fleckney in recent years.
But council planning officers are urging councillors to give the go-ahead to the plan.
