Appeal After Puppy Attacked In Market Harborough Park

Police are appealing for information after a puppy was attacked by another dog in Market Harborough’s Welland Park.

The 16-week old Italian Spinone called Fudge was set upon by a white Staffordshire Bull Terrier and needed emergency veterinary treatment after suffering serious injuries, including nerve damage to an eye.

The puppy’s owner was also bitten during the incident at 9.15pm last Monday.

A man with the other dog ran off without leaving details and officers are keen to track him down.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police told HFM: “Police were called around 9.25pm on Monday 17 April after a dog attacked another dog in Wellend Park, Market Harborough.

“The owner of the dog being attacked also reported suffering bite marks to one of his hands as he tried to intervene.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
