Desborough Man Sent Back To Prison

A convicted sex offender from Desborough is back behind bars after he posed as a single mum looking for an au pair online.
Peter Smith, 43, first went to prison in 2012 after trying to abduct two women in separate incidents whilst armed with a knife – sexually assaulting one of them.
On his release, he was put onto the sex offenders register, and has continued to be monitored by police.

Visiting his home on Braybrooke Road in Desborough on March 15th, officers discovered Smith had created an alias on the website aupair.com – pretending to be a single mother called Alex who was looking for an au pair.
He then moved chats onto WhatsApp, where he continued to pose as a woman, and also set up a false Facebook profile.
Admitting two charges of failing to comply with notification requirements, Smith has now been jailed for a further 12 months by magistrates.
