Fines Of Nearly £60,000 To Benefit Charities
Written by HFM News on 15th November 2022
It has been confirmed charities in Rothwell and Desborough will benefit from nearly £60,000 after construction traffic failed to use the approved route to a new homes site between the towns.
Fines paid by contractors are being split between both towns, meaning groups in each will be able to bid for a share of £28,155.
Persimmon Homes set up ANPR cameras to enforce the rules after the Rothwell North Working Party campaign group raised concerns about construction vehicles using residential streets to get the development off the B576.
Charities in Rothwell are now being invited to apply for some of the money and a similar application process will open in Desborough shortly, both operated by town councils.
