Unexploded WWII Shell Discovered In Back Garden In Rothwell

An unexploded World War Two shell was safely detonated after it was found in a back garden in Rothwell.
A builder working at the property in Charles Street discovered it yesterday morning and called Police.

Officers put a cordon in place and closed near-by roads until the arrival of army bomb disposal experts.
They safety removed the shell before taking it to an undisclosed location to be detonated.
