Memories Of The Queen Aired On TV From Market Harborough Pub

Customers at The Royalist pub in Market Harborough have been sharing their memories of the Queen on live TV today.

GB News has been broadcasting from the pub on the Southern Estate, which itself has a royal connection.

Customers who were at the pub for the regular ‘Friendship Lunch,’ organised by home-care provider Home Instead, were interviewed about Her Majesty and the new King, along with Marion Lewis OBE, the company’s Community Support Representative.

The pub is believed to on the site where King Charles I’s Royalist army camped before defeat at the Battle of Naseby in 1645, a decisive battle that helped end the English Civil War.

It was named The Royalist after a competition was run by the Harborough Mail, in the run-up to its opening in December 1962.
