Guns Surrendered In Market Harborough During Amnesty

A number of weapons were handed in at Market Harborough Police Station during a two-week firearms amnesty
Two shot guns, an air rifle, air pistol, decommissioned rifle and five rounds of ammunition were surrendered.
Officers asked people to hand over any illegal, unwanted and unlicensed firearms to avoid the risk of them becoming involved in crime.
Sergeant Pete Jelbert was pleased with the response:

A total of 74 firearms or their component parts were handed in across Leicestershire Police during the surrender event.
All will be destroyed or in the case of a small number, sent for further forensic testing.
