Sign Wrongly States Rockingham Road Will Close To Traffic

Signs wrongly state Rockingham Road in Market Harborough will be closed to traffic next week.
There will be temporary traffic lights in operation, but no full closure as detailed on signs either side of the railway bridge.

Network Rail will be carrying out drainage and investigation work and says its teams are looking into the wording on the signs, after being instructed to change them by Leicestershire County Council.
Gary Walsh, East Midlands Route Director for Network Rail, said: “I’d like to thank people in Market Harborough for their patience while we inspect the railway bridge on Rockingham Road next week.
“This is regular maintenance work to check the brickwork and make sure that water is draining as it should.
“The bridge plays a vital role in transporting passengers to and from Market Harborough. Keeping it in good condition will help us continue to provide a reliable rail service for many years to come.”
The temporary traffic lights are due to come into operation at 9.30am on Monday and be removed on Friday.
