Around 28,000 Residents Across Harborough To Get Help With Soaring Energy Bills

Around 28,000 residents across Harborough will each get £150 to help with soaring energy bills.
The District Council has been handed £4.2m by the government, to distribute to households living in council tax bands A to D.
Many households will see the cost of electricity and gas increase sharply from April when a new price-cap comes into force.
The one-off ‘energy debate payment’ is set to be made next month directly into residents’ bank accounts.
People who do not currently have a direct debit set up to pay their council tax are being urged to do do, so the payment can be paid quickly.
The council has also been given just under £107,000 to set-up a separate fund to help vulnerable residents, or those who do not pay council tax, and live in properties in bands E to H.
