People with log burners are being urged to ensure ashes are fully cooled after a fire in Rothwell yesterday.
They had been placed in a wheelie bin which set alight and the blaze then spread to a fence and the window of a house in Greening Road.

Firefighters from Desborough were called to deal with the incident just after 5.30pm.
A spokesperson for Desborough Fire Station said: “We used a hose reel to extinguish the fire and the owner used a garden hose prior to our arrival to prevent escalation.
“Always remember to ensure hot ashes are cooled before disposal. This incident could have been a lot worse had it gone unnoticed for any length of time.
“The owner has given us permission to use these photos to promote fire safety, as this was caused by hot ashes from a log burner not properly cooled down. ”
