Community Rallies Round To Support Ukrainian Truck Drivers

People are rallying round to help a group of Ukrainian lorry drivers who are stranded at the Rothwell Truckstop.

The 13 drivers had been parked at a near-by service station on the A14 for five days, without access to money.

Their credit cards have been cancelled and their haulage firms can’t load money onto toll passes, which enable them to pass through different countries to return home.

Donations of food and other items have been pouring in after an appeal was launched on social media and North Northamptonshire Council is also providing support to the drivers.

Last night, Desborough Fish Bar provided hot meals for the drivers and facilities at the Truckstop are being provided free of charge.
