Bus Firm Acts Amid Concerns Over Cuts To Services

A new bus service is to run at peak times to connect Kibworth, Great Glen and Leicester from the new year.

Operator Arriva has acted after concerns were expressed following the announcement the frequency of its X3 service, which runs along the same route, is being cut from half-hourly to hourly from January.

That would have badly impacted youngsters who use the bus to get to school, as well as passengers going to work.

The new X31 service will start when the new timetable is introduced on January 4th.

The timetable change will mean the X3 service no longer serving the Southern and Farndon Fields estates in Market Harborough – leaving passengers with no peak-time services.

The introduction of the new service follows a meeting between Harborough MP Neil O’Brien and Cllr Phil King, Leader of Harborough District Council, with the company.

Cllr King spoke to Hfm:
