Friends Prepare To Honour Popular Kibworth Man Who Died From Covid-19

Friends of a popular Kibworth man who died from Coronavirus are preparing for a big fundraiser in his memory.

Ellis White lost his life last February, aged 24.

He was in the ‘vulnerable’ category after having a kidney transplant in 2019 and contracted the virus despite shielding.

Ellis, a former student at Robert Smyth Academy in Market Harborough, was cared for at both Leicester Royal Infirmary and Leicester General Hospital and friends say he regularly commented on how supportive they were when he was undergoing dialysis and the kidney transplant.

Before he lost his life, he was treated in the Intensive Care Unit at Leicester Royal.

13 of Ellis’s friends will take part in a 954-mile sponsored cycle ride next month from Land’s End to John O Groats, to raise money for the Leicester Hospitals Charity.

They have already raised over £17,000.
