Firefighters Called To Blaze In Field

Fire crews have extinguished a fire in a field off Leicester Road in Market Harborough.

Vegetation was being burned, but firefighters acted because it was causing alot of smoke.

Crews from Market Harborough and Wigston were sent to the scene, close to Greenacres, just after 10.30pm, as initial reports stated a building was on fire.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Service told Hfm:  “It was a controlled burn which was extinguished due to it producing too much smoke.”
