GP Surgery Staff Self-Isolating

Written by on 17th November 2020

Some office staff at Kibworth Medical Centre are having to self-isolate because of coronavirus.

It affects all workers within the ‘patient services’ team, who answer the phones.

As a result,  people are being warned to expect to wait longer for calls to be answered, as they are being transferred to other sites operated by the South Leicestershire Medical Group.

Some appointments may also need to be cancelled.

A statement released by the surgery reads: “Due to Covid-19, all staff within our patient services team who answer the telephones at Kibworth Medical Centre will need to self-isolate.

“We are utilising our secretarial, administrative and management team to help with the call volume, but unfortunately, there will be an extended waiting time.

“Some appointments may also need to be cancelled but we will try to keep these to a minimum.”
