Plans Unveiled For First Phase Of ‘Overstone Park’

Written by on 11th November 2020

Plans have been announced for the first phase of a massive new development of 600 houses on the edge of Market Harborough.

Developer Davidsons have handed a planning application to Harborough District Council, for the first part of building on 88 acres of land off Kettering Road at Clack Hill.

It will see 164 houses built, 56 of which will be ‘affordable’ homes, if permission is granted, along with the creation of open space, play areas and pedestrian and cycle links.

Once complete, the development, to be known as ‘Overstone Park’, will stretch towards Braybrooke, and also include a primary school, doctors surgery and community centre.

Two new roundabouts will also be constructed as more homes are built – one at the entrance to the site on Kettering Road and the other at the near-by A6 junction, a well-known accident blackspot.

Work to prepare for the building began earlier this year, with parts of the site fenced off.
