£1,000 Reward Offered After Spate Of Farm Arsons

Written by on 20th October 2020

A £1,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or people deliberately starting fires at local farms.

The charity Crimestoppers has put it up after four arson attacks in the last month targeting bales of straw, which has left farmers thousands of pounds out of pocket and without supplies of straw, which is in short supply, and the majority of which is used for winter bedding for animals.

The latest fire happened in Cranoe on Saturday and others have been started in barns or fields in West Langton, Weston by Welland, Little Oxendon and off the A43 at Hannington.

Leicestershire and Northamptonshire Police now working jointly on the investigation, with the blazes taking place either side of the county borders.

To qualify for the reward, pass your information directly to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
