Leicestershire Police arrested 40 people and seized cash totalling £38,000 during action to target and disrupt ‘county lines’ drug dealers.

The operation last week saw 31 search warrants executed, with three in Market Harborough at properties at Riverside Court off Farndon Road, Jubilee Gardens and Angell Drive.

No arrests were made in Harborough, although property was seized from some of the properties suspected to be linked to drugs supply

Across the county, class A and B drugs were seized, including a large number of cannabis plants, along with two stolen vehicles, a number of knives, a stun gun and three imitation hand guns.

County lines gangs export drugs into other areas of the country, often small towns, using dedicated mobile phone lines.

They also exploit children and vulnerable adults to move and store drugs and money, sometimes using coercion, intimidation and violence.
