Water Supplies Hit By Major Burst

Water supplies have been restored to people living in and around Tilton on the Hill after being cut last night when a major pipe burst.

Severn Trent Water worked throughout the night to deal with the problem on Oakham Road, that had to be closed due to flooding.

A spokesman told Hfm: “We’re really sorry to customers in Tilton on the Hill, who’ve been affected by a burst water pipe overnight.

“We sent teams out to the burst straight away, who’ve been working hard throughout the night to bring it under control. To restore supplies as quickly as possible, we’ve also been busy injecting water and moving it around the network.

“We’re pleased to say the burst is now fixed and everyone’s supply has been restored.

“To return the road back to normal, a partial road closure will need to remain in place. We’re doing everything we can to get this done as quickly and as safely as possible. We’re sorry for the inconvenience this will cause.”
