80th Anniversary Of Battle Of Britain Commemorated

A wreath has been laid on the war memorial in the grounds of St Nicholas Church in Little Bowden, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

A small ceremony, organised by Market Harborough branch of the Royal Air Force Association, was held yesterday, but was limited to six people to comply with Coronavirus restrictions.

There is a stained glass window at the church in memory of RAF pilot William Fredrick Barber, from Market Harborough, who died during a training exercise in Yorkshire in 1948, aged 25.
