Kibworth Tip To Re-Open Next Month

Kibworth tip is to reopen next month after being shut since March because of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The site will be available Monday to Friday from August the 3^rd on an appointment-only basis, with bookings to be taken from July 24^th.

It is among six more recycling and household waste sites being re-opened by Leicestershire County Council, also including Lutterworth, after the tip in Market Harborough was brought back into use in mid-May.

Councillor Trevor Pendleton, county council cabinet member for waste disposal, said: “We’d like to thank residents for their understanding and patience during this time.

“We appreciate that, in some situations, people have had to travel further than they normally would to dispose of their waste – and these further re-openings will help this situation.

“We are continuing to monitor government guidance closely to ensure we can offer a safe and resilient service going forward.”

People wishing to visit a waste site are reminded that all information about the types of waste accepted at each site, as well as links to the booking system, are available  at www.leicestershire.gov.uk/waste
