Travis Perkins Closing Desborough Branch

Travis Perkins is shutting its builders’ merchant base in Desborough.
The outlet off Pipewell Road, which employs six people, will cease trading later today.
The Northampton-based company is closing 165 of its branches across the UK in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, with the loss of over 2,000 jobs.

Travis Perkins would not comment on the Desborough branch closure or if the Market Harborough branch is to be affected.
A spokesman told Hfm: “We have just started consultation for the announced proposals, which means our priorities are now to support our colleagues and that we are unfortunately unable to provide you with details of the proposed local impact at this stage, but we remain committed to redeploy staff wherever possible.”
