Harborough People Back Campaign To Save Wicksteed Park

An appeal to help save Wicksteed Park has raised more than £90,000 in just a few days.
People in and around Market Harborough are doing their bit to help by organising fundraisers, including the team at Freeman and Co accountants in Market Harborough, who are being sponsored to run five miles every remaining weekend in June.
Wicksteed Charitable Trust has been asking for public donations since Monday, when the Kettering theme park’s operating company went into administration.
Chairman Oliver Wicksteed, said: “The response of people both locally and further afield has been absolutely staggering and we cannot express how much it means to us to have so much support at what is such a difficult time.
“To see the love for the park expressed in so many ways, ranging from people organising their own fundraising events to offering to help around the park or simply expressing their support on email or social media has been amazing.”
The trust owns the park land and is backing a new company to secure the attraction’s future with public support.
