Cllr Amanda Nunn, Harborough District Council’s health and well-being Cabinet lead, said: “I would encourage anyone who is exhibiting coronavirus symptoms, particularly key workers, to book an appointment and get tested.

“I am delighted that the Council, having worked with the NHS to help provide temporary testing facilities in Market Harborough recently, is now able to help provide a similar facility in Lutterworth.”

It’s not been confirmed where or how many days the test facility will be operating for.

There is also testing facility operating in Kettering for three days from today and in Northampton from Sunday until Tuesday.

Meanwhile, over 900 people were tested for Coronavirus at two mobile facilities in Market Harborough.

New figures show 455 people were tested last week, when the Army ran the three day drive-through facility in the Commons Car park, and 495 last month, when testing took place in the car park of Harborough Leisure Centre.

Those who were tested should have received the result within 48 hours.

There are currently 166 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Harborough District, according to government data and the NHS say further mobile testing could take place in Market Harborough in coming weeks, if demands requires it.
