It will replace the current branch inside the GT News shop in St Mary’s Place, which will shut the day before, ahead of the shop itself closing down a few days later.

The new facility, which will have three serving positions, will open half an hour later at 9am Monday to Saturday.

A Post Office spokesperson said: “The relocation of Market Harborough Post Office will enable us to maintain a Post Office service for our customers in the local community.

“There will be three serving positions. There will be a dedicated area of the convenience store for a full-screened counter and an open-plan counter. There will also be a Post Office serving point alongside the retail counter of the store for the convenience of customers.

The new premises has a wide door and a step at the entrance, however access will be made level at the entrance.”
