Beds Dumped On Country Lane & Set On Fire

Written by on 29th April 2020

Fly-tippers dumped beds on a country lane near Kibworth Beauchamp yesterday, before someone set them on fire.

The beds were dumped on Mill Lane, near Kibworth Beauchamp

The bases of three were left blocking Mill Lane, two of which were completely burnt out.

Luckily because of the wet weather the fire didn’t spread to bushes at the side of the road.

Mattresses and some other items were also dumped.

Harborough Council contractors cleared up the mess today – a spokesman told Hfm: “We take fly-tipping very seriously and encourage anyone who has information about this incident to contact the Council.

“Despite this occurrence; our anti-fly-tipping campaign Tip Off has proved highly successful in fining and prosecuting those responsible for fly-tipping in the Harborough district.

“We have also seen a year-on-year reduction in fly-tipping as a result of our enforcement efforts; our environmental crime vehicle is also on patrol daily across the district.”
