Appeal After Lorry Drivers Seriously Hurt In Crash

Two lorry drivers have been taken to hospital with life-changing injuries after two HGVs were involved in a crash near Lutterworth early this morning.

The incident took place at around 1.55am this morning on the A426, Rugby Road, close to the village of Cotesbach.

The vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when the collision occurred and the drivers, both men, were taken to the University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire, after being released from the wreckage by fire crews.

Police are appealing for witnesses. Detective Constable Anita Rose is from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit. She said: “We would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision itself or the vehicles being driven beforehand.

“If anyone has a dash cam installed in their vehicle and captured what happened they are also urged to get in touch.”

The road was closed for several hours.
