The biggest ever flytipping sites in the Harborough District have been discovered along two hidden dead-end roads off the A6 bypass between Kibworth and Great Glen.

The massive amount of household and construction waste, piled over a metre high in places and stretching along the entire length of the roads, is likely to have been dumped over several months.
Harborough Council has drafted in a specialist team of contractors using a digger to start clearing the sites and move the rubbish into large waste container.

They are the biggest ever illegal flytipping sites to be found in the Harborough District and an investigation is now underway in a bid to find out who dumped the rubbish and where it came from.
Kevin Feltham, County Councillor for the area, has been to see it for himself:
The big clean-up began yesterday and is set to continue until tomorrow.

Bollards have now been installed at both sites in a bid to stop vehicles getting into the roads and prevent flytipping there in the future.
