Apology After Residents Awoken At 3am By Water Works

Severn Trent Water has apologised after residents were woken up by loud drilling in the early hours of today on Kettering Road in Market Harborough.
The firm says the work – connected to the upgrade pipes – was carried out overnight as it was likely to have caused water supplies to go off.
Some people living in Edwin Court were woken up just before 3am.
Severn Trent say letters were sent to people in the area advising them of the work, but are sorry for any disruption caused.
A spokesman told Hfm: “We had to do some last minute night work making connections on Monday night. The reason being, this work may have caused some peoples water to go off, so we did it overnight so we didn’t cause any disruption to the businesses / pub nearby so the water wasn’t affected.
“We did send letters to everyone in the area advising them of the work, but we’re really sorry if it caused any disruption.”
