Around 150 people attended a General Election hustings event in Market Harborough last night.

The audience at the event
There was standing room only at the Methodist Church Hall, as the five candidates hoping to be elected as the area’s MP, made statements and answered questions from members of the audience.
Local issues raised and discussed included education, especially the provision for special needs children, the environment, health and social care, the economy, taxes and spending, poverty and Brexit.

The candidates facing questions
All five candidates standing in the Harborough constituency attended the event – Neil O’Brien (Conservative), Celia Hibbert (Labour), Zuffar Haq (Liberal Democrats), Darren Woodiwiss (Green party) and Robin Lambert (Independent)
