Theives target wildlife charity

A Harborough charity – which is caring for over three hundred sick, injured and orphaned wild animals and birds – is trying to pick up the pieces after heartless thieves struck over the weekend.
Raiders cut through the perimeter fence at Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital on Fleckney Road in Kibworth during the early hours of Sunday morning.
They stole large amounts of vital animal food, hand feeding and rescue tools – as well as heat lamps, cages, and expensive rescue camera equipment from a storage trailer.
Animal Care Team Leader Harriet Childs told HFM she thinks the criminals may have got disturbed when she arrived early for work, because some of their intended haul got left behind.
CCTV footage is now being examined. Anyone who saw anything suspicious – or has any information about the incident – is asked to contact Leicestershire Police on 101.
