Trees Cleared After Storm

Highways teams have been out clearing trees and branches which fell during Storm Freya across the Harborough District last night.

Emergency gangs from Leicestershire County Council dealt with 18 call-outs to remove trees blocking the roads overnight and a further eight today.

They included on Walcote Road, South Kilworth, Laughton Road, Lubenham, Laughton Road, Hallaton, Main Street, Foxton, Mere Road, Upper Bruntingthorpe, and in Lutterworth on St Marys Road, Brookfield Way at the  junction with Woodley Avenue and Bill Crane Way.

The authority is also encouraging residents to check for any unusual changes in their trees following the storm.
