Police Join Forces With Supermarkets After Bag Snatches

Police are teaming up with supermarkets in Market Harborough to warn about thieves targeting people in car parks.

Posters are going up in stores and car parks as part of the campaign, to alert shoppers to the issue and staff will keep a closer look out for potential thieves and remind people about safety advice.

There have been a number of incidents in the past few months where people – the majority elderly – have had bags and purses snatched by thieves.

Several have taken place in the car park shared by Waitrose and Aldi on Springfield Street.
