Harborough Council have received a number of complaints from villagers, relating to the David Wilson Homes site off Fleckney Road, where 195 new houses are going up.

A spokesperson for David Wilson Homes East Midlands said, “As a leading homebuilder it is important to us that we are observing the local authority’s building regulations, and ensure our contractors and suppliers do the same.

“In accordance with our traffic management plan, we have specified to all of our suppliers that under no circumstances should construction traffic access the development through New Road or Church Road and must turn right when leaving site.

“We are closely monitoring the situation to ensure this is followed and that the development is only accessed through the agreed routes.”

A Council spokesman said: “The Council has contacted David Wilson Homes which has said it will reiterate, to its site teams and sub-contractors, the importance of using the approved route.

“The Council will continue to monitor development to ensure compliance.”
