Pedestrian Crossings Plea Refused

A plea for new pedestrian crossings in Kibworth has been turned down by highways bosses.

They had been requested for outside the Co-Op on the High Street and outside the Kibworth School on Smeeton Road, by the Parish Councils.

Leicestershire County Council say accident figures, the number of pedestrians recorded over a week period, together with the speed of traffic, does not meet the criteria for the safety improvements.

The call for the installation of the crossings formed part of a detailed submission to Leicestershire County Council for various road and safety improvements.
