Affordable Homes Set For Saddington

Written by on 13th February 2019

New homes for people hoping to get on the housing ladder are set for Saddington after Harborough Council sold a piece of surplus land to Waterloo Housing Group.

It will provide access to a site already owned by the housing association, enabling them to build affordable homes for shared ownership.

Cllr James Hallam, HarboroughCouncil’s portfolio holder for finance and assets, said: “We continue to maximise the use of our assets, on behalf of the taxpayer, to deliver income to help us provide Council services for our community, whilst enabling some much needed affordable housing for residents.”

The value of the sale hasn’t been revealed.

Neil Adie, Development Director (East) said “Waterloo Housing are extremely pleased to be working with Harborough District Council on this project which will enable four new shared ownership homes to be developed, for local people in the village of Saddington.”
