Warning After Dog-Bed Fire

A woman is warning how quickly a fire can spread after a blaze at her house in Braybrooke.
The fire in Church Close was started by a nine volt battery that had somehow made its way into a dog bed and exploded.

Together with her Mum, Terrie Cowley, was able to put out the fire with damp towels and get out of the house with their dogs, before the arrival of fire crews.
It’s left the carpet in the bedroom where it happened damaged and furniture and decor damaged by smoke.
Terrie hopes the incident can be used as a warning to others and as a reminder to have working smoke alarms on every floor:
The Fire Service recommend people get out of property straight away on the discovery of a fire and call 999 immediately.
