Water Pipes To Be Replaced

New water pipes are to be laid in Market Harborough, at a cost of £2m.

Severn Trent Water say the decision, to replace three miles of metal pipes that are over 60 years old in places, with plastic ones, follows a number of bursts and leaks in recent months.

The work will take place in and around Rockingham Road, Kettering Road and other areas including Roman Way.

It will also see Rockingham Road closed at the railway bridge for five days from February 18th, while trial holes are dug underneath it as part of initial investigation work.

Severn Trent is hosting an exhibition on Monday between 4pm and 7pm at the Methodist Church on Northampton Road for people to find out more about the plans.
