Houses Planned For Sawmill Site

A new housing estate is being planned for the site of a fencing company in Great Bowden.

31 homes are included in the proposal for three acres of land off Leicester Lane, which has been home to Bowden Fencing and its saw-mill since the 1960s.

A planning application has been handed to Harborough Council – the firm says it will remain open until that’s considered and has taken delivery of goods for sale during the coming year, although has no plans to re-locate and is likely to close if the scheme is approved.
