Leak Repair To Start Tonight

Severn Trent Water say work to repair a leak on a Market Harborough street – that has been deemed a safety risk – will start tonight.

Numerous complaints have been made to the firm about the issue of The Broadway which has been on-going for over 2 weeks.

The cold temperatures has meant water has turned to ice for the last two nights in places – with cars skidding on it and pedestrians slipping.

Up til this afternoon no work was to take place until Monday.

Leicestershire County Council highways officers also expressed concerns about the situation to the company.

A spokesman told Hfm: “We’re aware of the situation on The Broadway and have been in contact with Severn Trent Water who have assured us that works will be carried out tonight. In the meantime, please take care if you are travelling using this route.”
