Young Musicians & Singers Have The X Factor!

Young musicians and singers have shown off their talent at the final of Market Harborough’s Junior X Factor.
The competition saw prizes awarded worth over £1,000, with 17-year-old flautist Flo Smith crowned the overall winner for her performance of John Rutter’s Waltz.
Flo Smith won first prize
Second prize went to singer Liam Jarvis who sang Angel Eyes by Wet Wet Wet, trombonist Riley Vick took 3rd prize for his characterful interpretation of The Acrobat and Oliver Horn won the best Original Composition prize for his piece Drizzle.

Drummer Ellwood Till and singer Elspeth Williams won Most Promising Performer prizes.
A big audience watched the final at Market Harborough Methodist Church.

Trombonist Riley Vick picked up third prize
The other finalists were singers Charlotte Tona, Dylan Eldridge, Kaya Joshi and Nieve Heslop, singing duo Soul Sisters (Lily and Summer Vasey), saxophonist Oliver Horn and composer Joseph Walton.
The winner were handed music store vouchers, money towards vocal or instrumental lessons and an engraved glass trophy.
The competition was sponsored by Market Harborough and the Bowdens Charity and the Leicestershire and Rutland Freemasons Charity.
