Work To Start On A6 Safety Improvements At Clack Hill

Improvement work at a notorious accident blackspot on the A6 near Market Harborough is set to start in June.
A roundabout is to be constructed at the junction with Kettering Road at Clack Hill, which has been the scene of several serious crashes over the years.

The safety boost will be connected to the major housing development underway near-by and will be carried out by contractors working on behalf of Davidsons Homes.
James Towson from Market Harborough launched a petition demanding improvements following a crash at the junction last year.
It was signed by over 500 people in a few weeks.
James told Hfm the roundabout will be a major safety boost:
Southbound traffic was banned from turning right off the A6 a few years ago, to try and improve safety, but collisions have continued to happen, with drivers heading towards Desborough crossing the path of on-coming traffic to get out of Kettering Road.
A new roundabout will also be built further along Kettering Road, at the entrance to ‘Overstone Park,’ where 600 homes will eventually be built.
