Work To Build New Aldi Progresses At Pace

Work to build a new Aldi store in Market Harborough is progressing at pace.

Buildings have been demolished on the former Glenmere Timber site on Rockingham Road, to make-way for the development costing £5m.

Construction of the new store is set to take around ten months and once open the store will replace the retailer’s existing base on Springfield Street.

An Aldi spokesperson said: “Aldi is committed to working with the council and residents throughout the construction phase and looks forward to welcoming customers to its new store next year.

“The development of our new Market Harborough store is a multi-million investment in the town and will create jobs in the construction phase as well as additional permanent jobs in the new store.

“Existing colleagues at our Market Harborough store will transfer to the new store on opening.

“We look forward to welcoming existing and new customers alike to our new store in 2025.”
