Work On New Bridge In Little Bowden Stops
Written by HFM News on 29th November 2018
Work on a long-awaited and much-needed footbridge over the railway in Little Bowden has stopped because a key piece of permission for it hasn’t been given.

Although the structure is in place, groundworks still need to be completed.
A legal notice to change the public right of way from the previous path across the tracks between Glebe Road and Braybrooke Road – to the bridge – has to be obtained from the Department of Transport.
In the meantime, contractors have left the site .
County Councillor for the area Sarah Hill says people are frustrated:
It’s been over three since the well-used pedestrian crossing was closed after being deemed a safety risk.

A Network Rail spokeswoman said: “Whilst the bridge at Little Bowden has progressed well, we are now waiting for the final approval of the public right of way to be moved from the closed crossing to the new bridge.
“As soon as this is granted, we will finish the work on the bridge and open to members of the public as soon as possible. We’d like to thank the local community for their patience during this vital work to make the railway at Little Bowden safer.”
