Woman Fined After ‘Man With Van’ Dumped Her Rubbish On Country Road

A woman has been fined £400 after hiring ‘a man with a van’ to clear rubbish out of her house – which was then dumped on a country road near Gartree Prison.

The Enviro-Crime team at Harborough District Council found evidence among the heap of mess on Gallow Field Road, which traced it back to the homeowner in Rugby.

The woman, aged in her 40s, who has not been named, is the first to be issued with an increased fixed penalty notice, for failing to ensure the rubbish would be disposed of properly, after the flytip was discovered in April.

Previously, the penalty was £300.
