Warning After Footprints Spotted On Frozen Canal

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service has issued a safety warning after footprints were spotted on the frozen canal in Market Harborough.
Officers say walking on frozen water is extremely dangerous, as ice can easily break, and are urging people – especially children – to stay away from canals, ponds and rivers.
Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service has issued a similar warning, following reports of people walking and playing on frozen water.
They say falling through the ice into freezing water can cause cold-water shock and put lives at serious risk.
