Village Housing Plans Approved Despite Opposition

Plans for major housing developments in two Harborough villages have been approved, despite opposition.
Harborough District Council’s planning committee has given the green light for up to 170 new homes on land off Garner Way in Fleckney, along with a further 90 properties proposed north of the A47 in Houghton on the Hill.

Both applications attracted more than 40 objections from residents, who raised concerns about the scale of the developments and their impact on village infrastructure and character.
The outline approval granted at a meeting last night means the developments can progress in principle, with detailed designs to be submitted at a later stage.
