VE Day Anniversary To Be Marked

An event is to be held in Market Harborough next year to celebrate 75 years since the end of WW2.

It will coincide with a number to be held across the country to mark the VE Day anniversary and will take place on May 8th.

Harborough Council is working with the Royal British Legion, the team who ran the successful ‘Harborough At War’ event in the summer, schools and businesses in planning the celebration, and will announce more details in the coming months.

It’s also looking at what other events and activities can be organised in other parts of the District, and exploring the possibility of what could be done to mark 75 years of Victory over Japan Day in August 2020.
